We believe that we are not owners of our land, but keepers, only borrowing it from the next generation. Thus we constantly strive to protect and improve the natural beauty of our land, our soil, our water, and our community.
We have installed fencing to protect the woodlands and the Little Sauble River as it crosses our farm, from livestock access. All stock are supplied water from our well, and have no direct access to the river.
We have planted 4,000 evergreens in the river valley, and on steep hill sides that are susceptible to erosion, to eliminate soil erosion, improve fish spawning areas, and protect the water quality of the river, which flows into Lake Huron at Inverhuron Beach.
We are creating a storm water diversion pond and vegetative filter system to ensure only clean surface water leaves the farm.
We are certified as a Bee friendly farm by Partners for Sustainable Pollination.
